Next door neighbours

I don't why she's leaving, or where she's gonna go,
I guess she's got her reasons but I just don't wanna know,
'Cause for twenty four years I've been living next door to Alice.
Twenty four years, just waitin' for a chance,
To tell her how I feel and maybe get a second glance,
But I'll never get used to not living next door to Alice.

No, I'll never get used to not living next door to Alice...

"Livin next door to alice" by smokie

this is such a cool song.
Alice is gone, but Sally is still there.

but Smokie doesn't realise that Sally's there. Sally's been there since the start.

sometimes in life were blinded by our own desires. How do we start to filter all the chaff in our lives? Can we be sure of all the decisions we make?

i'm gonna sit in a corner and mope.

should be asleep

its 230 in the morning.

yeah, i cant sleep again. my body clock is operating oddly again.
spent the last 2 hrs tossing and turning in bed. i blame chinese new year for screwing up my schedule.

im sitting at my desk listening to smooth motown and the isley brothers are now singing their classic "Harvest for the World"
its one of those songs with a highly infectious groove and a solid rhythm, gotta love motown.. gotta love motown. Anyway the song to me is really about looking past yourself and thinking about other people for a change. it's easy to look at yourself and compare yourself with other people that you think are better or have got it better than you. but its human nature to complain, or so sayeth the taxi driver who took me from sim lim to my home. yeah human beings like to complain. we're never content.

i'd like to think that i'm pretty much a content person. but am definitely still a work in progress. there's parts of me i really dont like, and apathy and lethargy so far have got me believing that those parts dont exist. there's other parts of me which arent complete, kinda like having one half of a pair of chopsticks. you can eat with one chopstick, but wouldnt it be easier if you had a pair? there's parts of me that i like too, and hope that those parts are apparent to the people who know me.

billy joel's "just the way you are" is playing know.
I said I love you and that's forever,
And this I promise from the heart.
I could not love you any better,
I love you just the way you are.

being content is also about loving yourself enough to care about others.

and i dont make much sense when im sleepy

Laugh..

Take bread away from me, if you wish,
take air away, but
do not take from me your laughter.

yellowdeathmachine...

In the town where I was born
Lived a man who failed to see
And he told us of his life
In the land of yellowdeathmachines

So we drove up to the sun
Till we found the tiles of green
And we lived beneath the dashboard
In our yellow yellowdeathmachines

We all live in our yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines,
yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines, yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines
We all live in our yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines,
yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines, yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines

And our friends are all on board
Many more of them live next door
And the band begins to play

We all live in our yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines,
yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines, yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines
We all live in our yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines,
yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines, yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines

As we live a life of ease
Everyone of us has all we need
Sky of blue and sea of green
In our yellow yellowdeathmachines.

We all live in our yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines,
yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines, yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines
We all live in our yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines,
yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines, yellowdeathmachines yellowdeathmachines

midget speed... giant weed

after a brief discussion with phie.

I've decided to rework the psuedo metal-ballad "midget on speed"

here goes....

Screaming down the highway
in a yellow death machine
taking the bends at 90
i thought "this isnt what it seems"
red dragon stares at blank tv
kurt is screaming his apologies
and in my head and in my car
i thought "couldnt you see me?"

Like a midget on speed!
Like a giant on weed!
running running running in circles!
Like a midget on speed!
Like a giant on weed!
running running running in circles!

9 ball spins on a empty green
throwing away the nocturnal screen
throwing the fisherman his cup of tea
i thought "how can this be?"
and in the end of time
little children we will seem
when the maker reads his judgement
we'll scream "its too late for me"

its too late...
its too late...
its too late...

Midget on Speed

verse 1:
stuck in an endless loop
of pain and no regrets,
reaching for the next turn
as enola gay does the overburn
wondering if there's any place that i can't get...

Chorus:
Like a midget on speed.
I'm stumbling on the edge
Like a midget on speed.
I'm living for the need.
Like a midget on speed.
Like a midget on speed.

Verse 2:
Popping the red pill
It hits me like a garbage truck
While van stares at those baby browns
and where did we go, hey hey hey.
wondering if there's any place that i can't get...

Verse 3:
The world is spinning
but the lightbulbs need changing
The word is changing
like a cd stuck on song 2
wondering if there's any place that i can't get...

Bridge:
no more senses
no more senses
no more senses
